Role Description:
Fin Capital is hiring a Chief of Staff supporting our Managing Partner, Logan Allin. The Chief of Staff (CoS) is a critical partner to the Managing Partner, acting as a force multiplier and trusted advisor. This role requires a highly organized, strategic, and resourceful individual with exceptional communication and interpersonal skills. The CoS will play a key role in driving the Managing Partner's priorities, optimizing their time, and ensuring seamless execution of strategic initiatives. An ideal candidate will handle a diverse set of tasks and projects, while orchestrating the workstreams of our Managing Partner and other executives. While industry expertise is not a requirement, a candidate should learn quickly about the asset management and FinTech industries. We are looking for someone who is excited to grow both in the industry and at Fin.
Responsibilities include:
Project management across a broad scope of responsibilities aligned to the Managing Partner’s functional oversight across the firm, which includes supporting functions from hiring/team management, investment pipeline in VC and PE funds, co-investments, board responsibilities, thematic research, business/corporate development, and investor relations
Coordinating and tracking new inbound pipeline investment opportunities in coordination with the investment teams in support of the Managing Partner
Managing relationships and communication within the Fin community and partner networks, including other investors and LPs in support of the Managing Partner
Assembling briefing summaries in advance of meetings and supporting follow-ups
Preparing for weekly IC meetings, including agenda setting, meeting minutes, and action item follow-ups
Tracking firm goals and milestones
Processing internal and external communications – e.g. e-mails, newsletters, investor updates, socials and thought leadership content
Coordinating scheduling and contact management performed by EAs
Lead or contribute to special projects as assigned by the Managing Partner, which may include due diligence on new investment opportunities, market research, or process improvement initiatives
Supporting other functions of the Managing Partner and other executives as needed
Not a 9-5 role, meaningful travel and strong work ethic expected
Desired Skills and Qualifications:
Self-starter, genuinely intellectually curious, attention to detail, and passionate about FinTech and its impact on all aspects of the future.
Excitement to join and help scale a specialist VC focused on FinTech software in North America, UK/EU, LatAm, Israel, and Asia (Singapore/Japan)
Passion for FinTech, along with InsurTech, Enterprise Software, RiskTech and adjacent spaces
Ability to communicate effectively with individuals at all levels, both verbally and in writing
Alignment with Fin’s values in working in collaborative teams, high integrity, merit-driven and no ego/entitlement.
4-6 years of previous work experience with a background in venture capital, private equity, investment banking, management consulting, and/or tech operating roles (Product Managers, BD/Sales, Corp Dev/Finance, etc.)
Strong project management and organizational skills, with significant “span of control” to manage a significant number of active workstreams and projects at once
Master’s degree a plus
Foreign language skills (Spanish, Japanese or other) a plus
