Capital Formation/Investor Relations Director

Role Description:

Fin is seeking a Capital Formation/Investor Relations Director (“Director”) in Miami, New York, London or Singapore to serve as a key member of the firm’s external facing presence and a crucially important member of the team charged with achieving Fin’s ambitious growth objectives, helping to take the firm from $1 billion in AUM to +$5 billion. The Director will report to and collaborate closely with Fin’s Chief Capital Officer and the broader Fin team to further implement and refine processes centered around efficient and effective outreach to a full range of institutional and strategic investors, including pension funds (with a heavy orientation towards public plans), endowments and foundations, sovereign wealth funds, family offices, insurance companies, banks, wealth management (RIA) and asset management firms, and other institutional investors in Europe and the Middle East. Additionally, the Director will work closely with prospective Limited Partners (“LPs”) during their respective due diligence processes to support the Fin team in closing such investors across various Fin funds and other vehicles. The Director will also work with longer-term and newer LPs to support their internal reporting requirements and a regular cadence of communication with them. The ideal candidate will have previous capital formation experience in a venture capital or private equity setting and familiarity with institutional investors allocating to alternative investments.

Responsibilities:

  • Source prospective LPs and assist in managing the capital formation/investor relations processes, driven through Fin’s CRM, and ensure accuracy of responses and that all deadlines are met; update LP contact information, client activity and investment interests.

  • Assist in producing activity reports and action items from our CRM.

  • Maintaining outreach language across Fin’s fundraising activities.

  • Assist in administration of Fin’s virtual data rooms.

  • Assist in responding to ad-hoc information requests during fundraising activities, with an emphasis on driving prospective investors to the virtual data room.

  • Conduct competitor and market research, with an emphasis on identifying LPs investing in/open to FinTech allocations.

  • Establish and manage workflows to meet all internal and external deadlines related to capital formation/investor relations, initiate innovative ideas and creative approaches to help increase efficiency and further the capital formation and broader goals of the firm.

  • Organize video and in-person meetings and roadshows.

  • Assist in preparing regular content for LPs, including marketing materials, models, and Fin’s quarterly Navigator webinars.

  • Work on LP events, including our annual in-person Navigator Day, quarterly Navigator webinars and other events across each calendar year.

  • Identify industry conferences ideal for Fin’s participation and coordinate participation.

  • Coordinate and work with other areas of the firm effectively as part of a collaborative team

  • Ensure appropriate AML/KYC documentation is provided by LPs.

  • Ensure appropriate FATCA/CRS documentation is provided by LPs, as necessary.

Qualifications/Ideal Characteristics:

  • 4-5 years of relevant experience, preferably within a private markets investment management firm.

  • Undergraduate degree and an excellent academic background.

  • You are focused and results oriented.

  • You are passionate about the capital formation/investor relations function within a private capital investment management firm.

  • You are comfortable in a private capital environment and discussing private capital strategies with institutional investors.

  • You are self-motivated and have a proven ability to prioritize, multi-task, and perform effectively in a highly dynamic and collaborative work environment under tight deadlines.

  • You are accustomed to handling high volumes of information with the utmost attention to detail.

  • You are IT literate and highly proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)

  • You are someone with strong analytical, verbal, and written communication skills and naturally work across functional areas.

  • You are comfortable at times working irregular hours to accommodate overseas investor prospects and LPs.

  • Language capabilities preferred - Spanish or Arabic.
