Role Description:

Fin Capital is looking for a Head of Marketing and Communications to lead:

Media Relations and PR

  • Support firm-wide relationships with key reporters, analysts, and producers, helping identify and secure opportunities for interviews.

  • Identify and develop new relationships with reporters, analysts, and producers who are relevant to Fin’s investing theses, portfolio companies, and LPs.

  • Manage and execute all Fin-specific announcements for external distribution.

  • Track and pursue opportunities for awards and recognitions for Fin team and portfolio companies.

  • Provide guidance to portfolio companies, including review of press materials, relevant to funding and other significant announcements.

  • Manage partnership with Fin’s PR agency.

Hosted Events

  • Work with internal stakeholders on the development, planning, and execution of hosted events including intimate salon dinners, LP and portfolio events, mid-sized networking events, and large- scale gatherings, ensuring the Fin brand, ideas, and team are positioned and marketed appropriated.

  • Partner with the Value and Capital Formation teams to develop portfolio-focused events including webinars, demo days, and networking events.

  • Support the development and execution of investor-focused events including Annual meetings.

Content and Thought Leadership

  • Develop content strategies and create innovative campaigns that increase understanding of Fin Capital’s brand, investment theses, portfolio companies, and leaders across social and digital platforms.

  • Partner with investment and platform teams to create engaging monthly, quarterly, and annual digital communications for a range of audiences including LPs, portfolio leadership, peers, and external audiences.

  • Oversee social media strategy and review/approval of all content, drafting content as needed.

  • Manage external speaking opportunities, pitching and securing speaking roles for Fin leaders and partnering with internal stakeholders to develop and update calendar of opportunities.

  • Work with senior leaders and our PR agency to refine and update individual thought leadership platforms, preparing key talking points and drafting content as needed.

  • Review and vet opportunities for contributed content as appropriate.

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • At least 8-10 years of experience running marketing and communications programs; financial technology experience required and Venture Capital or Private Equity experience strongly preferred

  • Ability to serve as a team-of-one, developing, managing, and executing strategies and programs across platforms

  • Experience writing for a variety of audiences, platforms, and voices, including thought leadership, reports, playbooks, and digital/social communications

  • Strong attention to detail, organizational, and multi-tasking skills

  • Highly proficient in PowerPoint and Excel

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to conceptualize, synthesize, and communicate complex subject matter to a variety of audiences

  • Personable and engaging personality that can develop strong and long-lasting relationships across the industry
